Erin Staffiere AS Julius Caesar

ERIN STAFFIERE is an actor and dancer based in Southern New Hampshire. She was last seen at Theater in the Open in Lost Songs (2019) and Antigone (2017), in which she was a member of the Chorus and was the choreographer. She has performed in TITO’s annual Poe performance for several years. Erin is a member of Exit Dance Theatre.

Cara Olansky as Brutus


CARA OLANKSY received her BA in Theatre Performance from Butler University. While enrolled at Butler, she spent a semester in London studying comedy, dance, acting and playwriting at Middlesex University. There she wrote her original script, Rhythms of the Underground, which made its Chicago debut with Dramatis Personae in 2008. To further her theater practices, Cara has trained with Theater in the Open (Newburyport, MA), The Actor’s Studio (Newburyport MA), Black Box Acting Studios (Chicago IL), The Actors Studio (Chicago IL), 2nd Story (Chicago IL), Claire Simon Casting (Chicago IL), and Profiles Theater (Chicago IL). Cara also holds an MS in Early Childhood Education and spends her time promoting the importance of the arts as it relates to social/emotional development and critical thinking in early childhood classrooms. Some of her favorite credits include “Josie” in The Skryker (Butler University), “Erzulie” in The Voodoo Chalk Circle (The State), “Harriet” in Ozma and Harriet (Tympanic Theater Company), “Mayella” in To Kill a Mockingbird (Theater in the Open), “Katherine” in The Taming of the Shrew (Theater in the Open), “Dr. Gilbert” in The Sweetest Swing in Baseball (Step Up Productions), and “Marcia Marie” in Where’s My Money? (Dramatis Personae).

CAILIN MCFARLAND is a longtime Theater in the Open performer, most recently in Poe, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Antigone. She is on the education staff at Theater in the Open, teaching art to the students of the Summer Arts Workshop. Cailin is a costume designer for Theater in the Open having worked on several productions and pantos. She is very excited to perform Julius Caesar!

JESSICA SCOUT MALONE (she/her/hers) is a Boston-based theatre artist, violence designer, and themed drink enthusiast. When she was young she dreamed of a life as a baker who moonlit as a trapeze artist, but has since found other ways of satisfying the need to entertain. With over 17 years of movement training influencing her work, Jessica is passionate about investigating the ways human bodies create narrative and meaning, both alone and with others, onstage and off. Jessica holds a BFA in Theatre Arts from Boston University, and her work can be seen with companies like Anthem Theatre, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, Company One, and New Repertory Theatre. ALLEGRA LARSON is elated to be a part of TITO fest and celebrate 40 years of the company’s existence. She graduated from The Theatre School at DePaul University in 2017 with a BFA in Theatre Arts. Recent credits include The Tempest (Theater in the Open), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Village Theatre Company), Hallmark Doesn’t Make Cards for Us (Newburyport NewWorks Festival 2019) and Flesh and Bone (Illinois Art Institute—Chicago). When she’s not acting, Allegra loves singing, playing music, and writing original songs. Much love to all the friends, family, lovers, teachers, pets, and strangers who’ve supported her along the way.

ALLEGRA DUBUS-BRANDOLINI is thrilled to be in Julius Caesar. She has performed in countless shows including Theater in the Open’s productions of Antigone, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Medea, and A Snow White Panto as well as Waiting for Godot, Into the Woods, Thirteen the Musical, The Little Mermaid, School of Rock the Musical, The Henriad, and Men On Boats. Thank you to Dylan Wack and this wonderfully talented cast! Later this month, she will be returning to her studies at Sarah Lawrence College.

FRANCES HELLUMS proudly made her Theater in the Open debut this summer in The Tempest! Originally from Houston, Texas, Frances is currently pursuing her BFA at Boston University's School of Theatre with concentrations in Musical Theatre and Applied Developmental Psychology. Favorite credits include; InMotion Theatre's Sunlight Interior (Melody/The Usher/The Dancer), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator), and Mainstreet Theater's staged reading of Kilgore! Judith Chaffee AS Cinna, Messala, and the Soothsayer


JUDITH CHAFFEE, (AEA), appeared as “Mother” in Good by C.P. Taylor at New Repertory Theatre, Boston Center for American Performance and again for the Potomac Theatre Project in NYC. Other credits include An American Dream (Colorado Arts Festival); Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, House of Bernarda Alba, and Agnes of God (Boston University), and a recent film role in The Inhabitants. She danced and choreographed for Boston Dance Collective for 20 years and has choreographed theatre productions for Central Square Theatre, SpeakEasy, Huntington Theatre Company, New Repertory Theatre, among others in New England. She has two CDs on Period Styles through Insight Media, and co-edited, with Olly Crick, The Routledge Companion to Commedia dell’Arte. She is Emerita Professor at Boston University, where she was head of movement for theatre and opera before retiring in 2015. She joined the Board of TITO in 2019 and is currently adjunct professor in theatre at UMass/Boston.

Kyana Burgess AS Decius Brutus, Marullus, and Octavius Caesar


KYANA BURGESS has performed with Theater in the Open in Antigone, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Poe, and Through the Wardrobe; A Winter Wonderland Panto! She performed Waiting for Godot at the Firehouse Center for the Performing Arts in 2018. She is a rising sophomore at the University of New Hampshire, studying Anthropology and Sustainability. She is an avid reader and dancer, having performed with Joppa Dance Company for several years.

SIERRA GITLIN AS Caius Ligarius, Lucilius, Volumnius

SIERRA GITLIN has been working with Theater in the Open as an actor since 2017, performing in Antigone as part of the Chorus. She has appeared as Medea and in several pantos since. Sierra serves on the Board of Directors of Theater in the Open and is in the summer mainstage performance of The Tempest.

KATIE FORMOSI is a student at Umass Amherst finishing up a degree in Linguistics and German. After working with Theater in the Open for the first time in the Cinderella Panto (Dippy), she is thrilled to be continuing her work with the company by teaching at the Summer Arts Workshop and getting back to Shakespeare with this production! Katie has also performed with Northern Essex Community College's Top Notch Players and Still Point Dancers, Umass' Student Theater Guild, and Pentucket Players. She would like to thank the cast and Dylan for allowing her to hop into this production!

MATSON KNOWLES last performed with Theater in the Open in Much Ado About Nothing and A Snow White Panto! A student at the Waring School in Beverly, she performed in The Skin of Our Teeth by Thornton Wilder and was Assistant to the costumer for their recent production of Mary Poppins.

ELLA KNOWLES has performed with Theater in the Open several times, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, and A Nutcracker Panto! Ella is a student at the Waring School in Beverly. While not at Theater in the Open, she enjoys hanging out with George Bailey, her dog.

Dylan C. Wack, Director


DYLAN C. WACK makes his Theater in the Open directorial debut with Julius Caesar. Selected area credits include Baltimore and Fiddler on the Roof (New Repertory Theatre), Antigone and A Midsummer Night's Dream (Theater in the Open), In the Forest She Grew Fangs (Also Known As Theatre), Girlish (Fresh Ink Theatre), Seminar, Parade, and Cloud 9 (Boston University School of Theatre). He holds a BFA in Theatre Arts with a Minor in Spanish from the Boston University College of Fine Arts, and a Certificate in Classical Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Dylan speaks Spanish fluently, having lived and studied in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a member of the education department at the Huntington Theatre Company, and is on the administrative staff at Theater in the Open. Originally from Newburyport, Massachusetts, he currently resides in Jamaica Plain.
