Women’s Herstory Month: Lost Voices
In collaboration with the Firehouse Center for the Arts and the Actors Studio of Newburyport, Season 40 will kick off on March 2nd, 2019 with a one night only revival of our two Greek tragedy productions: Antigone and Medea. We will present the poetry and movement of these two pieces to celebrate the start of Women’s History Month at the Firehouse Center for the Arts of March 2nd, 2019 at 8pm.
One of William Shakespeare’s final masterpieces, The Tempest comes to Maudslay State Park in July and August of 2019. This production is free and open to the public.
Maudslay is Haunted
Our annual haunting of Maudslay State Park is a celebration of the slightly spooky and seriously silly. Join us for this all-ages haunted walk through Maudslay in autumn. There’s no better way to spend a perfect fall day, and this important fundraiser supports TITO’s work year-round.
Poetry Out Loud Semifinals: Newburyport
This year we are proud to be partnering with the Education Department at the Huntington Theatre Company in Boston to host the first ever Newburyport Semi-Final of Poetry Out Loud. Poetry Out Loud is a national poetry recitation contest developed to engage students with poetry. Now in its 14th year in Massachusetts, the program is expanding to the North Shore, and we are thrilled to act as the hosts for the 20 semi-finalists and their guests.
This event is free and open to the public.
Circus Smirkus will take us to the Carnaval on August 2nd and 3rd, in our annual fundraiser for Theater in the Open.
Visit smirkus.org for tickets.
