NICK BAUM

NICK BAUM (he/they) is a New York based actor who is thrilled to ruin his mouth for you all! To see more from Nick, please attend Commonwealth Shakespeare’s production of Romeo + Juliet where you can catch them as Benvolio. Previous credits include A Charlie Christmas (Snoopy), Romeo and Juliet (Mercutio), Sense and Sensibility (John Willoughby), The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (Jesus of Nazareth), and more! ANNIKA BURLEY

ANNIKA BURLEY (she/her) is a New York based actor with an affinity for Shakespeare & new works. She received her Musical Theatre BFA in 2020 and is currently working on Romeo + Juliet (Tybalt) with Commonwealth Shakespeare Company & will be performing in Macbeth this summer on the Boston Common with CSC! She is also the voice of Jane on the animated series Dead Sea Squirrels (creators of VeggieTales) to be released in 2024. Recent/favorite credits include Phoebe in As You Like It (London debut), Sally in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Berkshire Theatre Group), and Rosalind in As You Like It (Nashville Shakespeare Festival). She's not sure how she was convinced to eat this pepper in good conscience. annikaburley.com

MICHAEL J. BLUNT

MICHAEL J. BLUNT loves Shakespeare and what better way to celebrate the Bard’s birthday!

Previous Theater in the Open Credits include A Nutcracker Panto (2021), Adventures in Zoomland (2020), Home for the Holidays (2020), A Christmas Carol Panto (2019), A Peter Pan Panto (2019), and the The Tempest (2019).


ALLEGRA DUBUS-BRANDOLINI

ALLEGRA DUBUS-BRANDOLINI is thrilled to be joining the cast of Hot Pepper Hamlet. Recent credits include Waiting for Godot (Firehouse Center for the Arts), Emotional Creature (Firehouse Center for the Arts), The Little Mermaid (Firehouse Center for the Arts), and School of Rock the Musical (Ogunquit Playhouse). She has performed in countless productions at Sarah Lawrence College such as Head over Heels the Musical and Twelfth Night. She trained at the British American Drama Academy in London and recently graduated with a BA in Theater and Creative Writing at Sarah Lawrence College.

Previous Theater in the Open credits include The Crucible (2022), The Game of Love and Chance (2022), Metamorphoses (2021), Julius Caesar (2018), Medea (2018), and Antigone (2017), among many others.


Morgan Amelia Fanning

MORGAN AMELIA FANNING is a Portsmouth based actor and musician who is understandable dubius about this whole hot pepper thing. Other recent credits include Pericles (7 Stages Shakespeare Company), The Tempest (Fenix Theatre Company), and You Got Older (Mad Horse Theatre Company). Morgan is an accomplished violinist, recently playing in the pit orchestra at Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth. Morgan is a Chicagoland native and attended Luther College where they graduated with a BA in Theatre and Music.

MARA FLYNN

MARA FLYNN holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. In addition to over 20 years teaching and directing workshops for various organizations (Tannery Arts Camp, Theater in the Open) she was co-director at Acting Out in Newburyport, MA where she taught improv based theater and performance workshops for 15 years. As a singer-songwriter, Mara has released three solo albums on Burst and Bloom Records; her last album, “Good Hands” was released in 2016. Mara is also the Director of Children’s Ministry at the First Religious Society UU in Newburyport where she uses her experience in theater, music and education to foster community, self awareness and empathy, and the exploration of social justice as a spiritual practice.


TREVOR GERARD FREDERICK

TREVOR GERARD FREDERICK (he/him/his) : Actor, Martial Artist, Video Producer. Recent credits: Poe in Salem (TITO), Boy Willie in The Piano Lesson (Vokes Theatre), Helicanus/Cleon in Pericles, Prince of Tyre (Seven Stages Shakespeare Company). 

Previous Theater in the Open credits include POE in Salem (2022).


SIERRA GITLIN

SIERRA GITLIN has been working with Theater in the Open as an actor since 2017, performing in Antigone, The Tempest, Metamorphoses, and Poe. She has appeared as Medea and in several pantos. Sierra serves on the Board of Directors of Theater in the Open.


EDWARD F. SPECK

EDWARD F. SPECK has a long history with Theater in the Open, having been a company member for 12 years before taking on the role of Artistic Director in 2009. His first show with Theater in the Open was 1997’s Much Ado About Nothing directed by Bonniejean Wilbur. Previous credits with Theater in the Open include Medea (Jason), The Tempest (Caliban), Antigone (Creon) and lots and lots of clowns over a decade of Pantos. He has recently been seen in Pericles with 7 Stages Shakespeare and Waiting for Godot at the Firehouse Center for the Arts. An Amesbury native, Edward now lives in Newburyport as artist in residence at the Maudslay Gatekeeper’s House, which allows Teddy and his wife to raise their young daughters on the edge of these magical woods.

Previous Theater in the Open credits as director include A Christmas Carol Panto! (2021), Adventures in Zoomland Panto! (2020), and A Peter Pan Panto! (2019), among many other Spring and Winter Pantos.


DYLAN C. WACK

DYLAN C. WACK (he/him/his) is thrilled to be returning to Theater in the Open for the dumbest thing you’ve ever seen in your life. He has performed with the Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, New Repertory Theatre, the Front Porch Arts Collective, Fresh Ink Theatre, and Sparkhaven Theatre, among others. He can be seen as Friar Laurence in Romeo + Juliet at Commonwealth Shakespeare Company in May, 2023. He holds a BFA from Boston University and a Certificate in Classical Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
