Circus Smirkus
Presenting Circus Smirkus is another highlight of the season that has become a highly anticipated area event. It’s also an important way for TITO to raise critical operational funding.
You have to see Circus Smirkus in action to believe it — these circus stars, ages 11 to 18 — bring youthful exuberance and polished circus skills from across the country and around the world. Everyone who enters the big top leaves with a smile on their face, knowing that they’ve just seen something truly special.

maudslay is haunted! 2023
Theater in the Open’s notorious annual haunting of Maudslay is back! Join us for a walk in the park like no other—if you dare! Spooky, silly, and all-ages vignettes are sure to get you in the Halloween spirit for the HAUNTED TRAIL!
2023 DATES & DETAILS: October 21 & 22 from 1:30 pm to 4 pm. (Raindate, Oct. 28)
Admission is $10. Children under 4 are free! Cash and card accepted. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.

Appleton is haunted!
Theater in the Open’s notorious annual haunting of Maudslay is going on tour! Join our cast of the undead for a half-hour walk through eerie vignettes, spooky sketches, and haunting scenes, all surrounded by the changing colors and autumn grandeur of the farm. Bring the whole family for a variety of tricks and treats, this event is intended for all ages.
October 29th from 1 pm to 3 pm.
Trustees of Reservation Members $10, Nonmembers $15. Children under 2 are free. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.

Flatbread PIZZA Fundraiser
This event speaks for itself. Come out to Flatbread Pizza in downtown Amesbury to share a meal with friends and support Theater in the Open! We are grateful to Flatbread for donating a percentage of every pizza sold on our fundraiser night to Theater in the Open. Order some takeout or grab a table and some friends and come out to support Theater in the Open!
