Join the Fun by Volunteering at Maudslay is Haunted!

Saturday, October 19th & Sunday, October 20th

Volunteers & performers needed 11:30am-5pm. Gates open at 1:30pm-4pm

Every October, the Theater in the Open community gathers for our biggest fundraiser of the year. Characterized by spooky spectacles and long lines of audience members. Maudslay is Haunted is a long-standing tradition at Maudslay State Park and in Newburyport. It's also a low-pressure and FUN way to support Theater in the Open.

Whether you want to perform or help out backstage, we can use your assistance. Want to create a skit? TITO leaders will help you develop it from beginning to end — no performance experience necessary. Feel like lending a hand backstage instead? We always need people to help sell refreshments, take tickets, and more.

Maudslay is Haunted is more silly than spooky, so youngsters are welcome to join us. We just ask that any volunteers under 10 years old have a responsible chaperone with them at rehearsals and performances, so we can be sure they're comfortable and cared for at their performance site. Many of our young volunteers and their chaperones create a skit to perform together.

Ready to join in the fun? Come to our welcome meeting on Saturday, September 28, 2-3 pm. Rehearsals will be Saturday, October 5th, 1-3 pm, Saturday, October 12th, 1-3 pm, and Sunday, October 13th, 1-4:30 pm. Please plan to attend all of these meetings at The Gatekeeper's House, 1 Spring Lane, Newburyport, MA.

All volunteers will need to arrive by 11:30 am at the Gatehouse Saturday, October 19th & Sunday, October 20th. Our rain day is set for Sunday, October 27th.

See you in the park soon!
